MEN'S WATER POLO: A FINE SEASON

Citrus College hosted the Southern California Regionals where #8 Fullerton defeated #9 Cuesta College 10-7 on Thursday.

The Hornets jumped on the Cougars in the first half taking a 4-1 lead. However, Cuesta did not go away quietly as they scored 3 goals in the third quarter to make it a game. FC managed 4 goals in the fourth quarter and held off the Cougars to seal the game.

James Myers was the goal leader with 3 on the day. Trevor Birkbeck and Adam Bentley each scored 2 goals. Joe Feaster, Philip Walstwick, and Bernard Hefner each tossed one into the back of the net. GK Sam Feaster had 11 blocks.

On Friday, the Hornets faced #1 Golden West College in the second round where their season ended with a 14-7 loss.

FC fell behind early as the Rustlers were up 5-2 by the end of the first quarter. GWC had complete control of the game outpacing Fullerton 12-4 at the start of the fourth quarter. 

Joe Feaster and James Myers each scored 3 goals and Trevor Birkbeck put in a goal. Sam Feaster had 8 blocks.

The Hornet men's water polo team ended their 2014 campaign with a very respectable 20-10 overall record. They also placed third in the tough Orange Empire Conference.
