MEN'S WATER POLO: HORNETS PUT UP A FIGHT

After a long break, the Hornets were back in action on Wednesday hosting one of the top teams in the state in Riverside City College. FC gave the Tigers a fight but ended up with a 13-9 loss.

The loss now gives Fullerton an overall record of 7-9 and keeps them winless at 0-3 in the tough Orange Empire Conference. The RCC win lands them at 13-4 overall and 2-1 in the OEC.

The Hornets had some time off since they last saw action back on September 28th against Saddleback. They had Santa Ana on the schedule for last October 5th, however Santa Ana did not have enough players and the game was cancelled.

The Tigers looked sharp from the start of the game whipping in three quick goals before the Hornets could even get used to the water temperature. Fullerton countered with three unanswered goals of their own to tie the game 3-3 by the end of the first quarter.

Riverside held the Hornets to a goal in the second quarter while pumping in 3 goals of their own. RCC went into halftime with a 6-4 lead.

In the second half, RCC closed the door outscoring Fullerton 5-2 in the third, but the Hornets never quit as they outscored the Tigers 3-2 in the fourth.

Up Next: The Hornets (7-9, 0-3) will play in the Santa Monica Mini-Tournament this Friday, October 14th.
