CROSS COUNTRY: FOOTHILL INVITE

The Hornets ran strong in the wind and heat at the Foothill Invite on Friday at San Bernardino's Glen Helen Park.

The men's team placed 2nd overall out of eight teams with FC runner Brandon Velsaco leading the way.

Velsaco finished in 4th place overall in the 4-mile out of 85 runners with a time of 21:09. Manuel Ruiz was not too far behind coming in at 6th place overall with a time of 21:48. Johnny Nava took 16th finishing at 22:27 and Jonathan Sheatz placed 21st at 22:42. Khaled Takwa came in at 22:9 placing 22nd overall and Raul Bustamonte ran 23:55 taking 32nd.

On the women's side, the Hornets placed 4th overall out of eight teams competing in the 5K with Tia Streeter coming in as the FC lead runner 20:28 at 5th overall out of 67 runners. Fanny Giron also ran strong for FC taking 10th place with a finishing time of 20:49. Breanna Arroyo came in at 21:47 at 21st place and Andrea Mendez crossed the finish line at 22:22 taking 29th place.

Up Next: The Hornets will run at the Brubaker Invitational at Irvine Regional Park on Friday, October 10th @ 12:00 pm.
