HORNETS EDGED BY DONS

HORNETS EDGED BY DONS: FC dropped their second straight this week after losing at Santa Ana College 4-2 in an OEC match-up. College of the Canyons beat Fullerton 12-0 on Tuesday in a non-conference game. The Hornets grabbed the first lead of the game on a solo home run by Shaylynn Chapman with two outs in the first inning.

The Dons to claimed their first lead of the game (2-1) in the bottom of the first inning. Santa Ana went on to extend their lead (3-1) in the second inning.

Fullerton cut into the Santa Ana lead (3-2) in the third on an Don error, but the Dons would get that run back in the bottom of the third inning. Devon Rodriguez hit a leadoff single before taking third on a Perez single combined with a Fullerton error. Rodriguez came in to score when Karina Rosas singled to right field. Rodriguez (9-3) also picked up the win.

Starting pithcer Alyssa Felipe (4-6) took the loss for Fullerton after allowing four runs, all earned, on seven hits over six innings of work.

Up Next: The Hornets (8-22, 4-10) will host Santiago Canyon College on Friday, April 5th. Game time is at 2:00 pm.
