SOFTBALL: LOERA COMMITS TO DOMINGUEZ HILLS
Hornet sophomore catcher Anissa Loera will be playing for Cal State Dominguez Hills next season.
Loera played a very important role in the Hornet's run to the Super Regional playoffs this past season. Anissa was a 2nd Team All-Orange Empire Conference selection who batted .325 with 17 runs and 25 RBI. She also belted 2 home runs.
The Toros are getting solid catcher who can protect the plate (only 5 passed balls in 37 games) and deliver offensively.
"Anissa has the potential to be the best, if she allows herself to compete and not get down on herself. She has experienced what it takes to get to the next level, and now she has to play with a chip on her shoulder, like 'here I am- go ahead and try and run on me' ", Head Coach Marian Mendoza.
