SOFTBALL: BLANKING THE RUSTLERS

The No. 9 Hornets made quick work of Golden West College on Monday enforcing the mercy rule on the Rustlers 12-0.

The game was played at Fullerton College, however it was a home game for Golden West due to poor field conditions.

In the second inning FC went up 6-0. Garza smoked the ball off the left field fence for a double that scored Desiree Guzman.  Vasquez copied Garza hitting the ball to the same spot for a double scoring Kaylee Williamson from first base. Vasquez came in from third after a throwing error by the GWC pitcher.

In the fifth inning, FC added 5 more runs. With the bases loaded, Hunter Williams worked a walk forcing Camille Greene home. Vasquez hit a high SAC Fly to left field giving Alyssa Haro the chance to score from thrid after tagging up. Jocelyn Alcala hit a single to left field scoring Jessica Avilla. Clarissa Hernandez singled to left center bringing Williams in, and Natalie Gonzalez reached on a fielder's choice allowing Lilavois to score on the throw.

Jessica Lopez got the start and earned the win for Fullerton throwing 2 innings with 4 strikeouts and zero walks. Lulu Vasquez came in to finish it in the bottom of the third and delivered 3 strikeouts with 2 walks.
