TWO HORNETS ARE D2 WORLD SERIES CHAMPS

Playing for Rogers State in the 2022 NCAA Division 2 Softball World Series, former Hornet standouts Natalie Gonzalez and Alondra Natera celebrate a championship win over Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The No. 5 seed Hillcats (58-10 overall) won their first-ever National Championship with a 6-1 victory over the No. 8 Toros (45-24).

Gonzalez played for Fullerton College in 2019-2021 helping the team to an Orange Empire Conference title in 2021. In her last season for FC, Natalie batted .403, had 18 runs, 6 RBI, and 13 stolen bases. She earned All-Conference and All-State honors.

Natera played for the Hornets in 2020 and 2021 earning an OEC title in 2021, while being named the OEC's "Defensive Player of the Year". She was also named to the All-State team.

Both wrapping up their junior seasons on a big high, Gonzalez and Natera will be enjoying their summer while preparing for another run next season.
