GAME ONE WIN IN THE BOOKS FOR THE SOCAL REGIONALS

GAME ONE WIN IN THE BOOKS FOR THE SOCAL REGIONALS

The No. 5 Hornets welcomed No. 12 College of the Canyons to FC on Friday for game one of the SoCal Regionals and blanked the Cougars 4-0.

Orange Empire Conference Pitcher of the Year Allyson Fuentes tossed a masterful complete-game-shutout scattering 4 hits over seven innings. She walked 3 batters while striking out 4.

A diving catch by Coco Siono in right field for the first out set the tone early. The game remained scoreless, until the fourth inning when Alendy Aguilar hammered a double to the left field gap scoring Olivia Nunez from second.

Fullerton went up 2-0 in the fifth inning when Meah Almaraz rocked a single to the left side that scored Coco Siono.

The Hornets added two more security runs in the sixth to put the game away. Cassidy Hornung's ground out to the pitcher gave Nunez the chance to score from third. Siono then reached on a fielding error as Aguilar crossed home plate.

Two players had a multi-hit game in Alendy Aguilar (2 doubles) and Olivia Nunez.

Up Next: The Hornets (27-13-1 overall) will get back at it again with College of the Canyons for game two of the best of three SoCal Regional series on Saturday, May 6th at 12:00 pm. Game three (if needed) will be played soon after game two.
