WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: SEASON SWEEP

Fullerton did not have an answer to #11 Cypress College's offense as the Hornets were swept on the road 74-59.

The FC lands their record at 16-10 overall and 5-6 in the Orange Empire Conference while the win for Cypress competes a season sweep over the Hornets giving them a healthy record of 21-7 overall, 9-2 OEC. 

The Chargers led by as much as nine in the first half, but the Hornets fought back to tie the game b the halftime break.

Cypress came out in the second half firing on all pistons while FC came out flat as the Chargers took over leading by as many as 17 points.

Three Cypress players did most of the damage scoring in double-digits, led by Lauren Hong's game-high 17 points. Jeana Magana scored 14 and Erika Nilsen added 12 points.

Xochitl Nava came off the bench to lead the Hornets with 16 points with 5 rebounds. As a team, FC shot 33.3% while Cypress was 41% from the floor.

Up Next: The Hornets will finish their regular season run this Friday at home in the Hornets Nest against 5th ranked Irvine Valley College (24-3, 11-0). Tip off will be at 7:00 pm.
