WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: VALIANT EFFORT

The Lady Hornets ended their season last Friday night playing in the 1st round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs at Ventura College (last season's state champs).

Although Fullerton had beaten the Pirates twice earlier this season, Ventura's proved too much as FC lost 67-60 while putting up a valiant effort.

Sophomore forward Kelli Calton had one of her best games of the season scoring a game-high 21 points with 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block. Freshman guard Emily Dy put up 17 points. Sophomore Xochitl Nava came off the bench to score 8 points and brought down 4 rebounds. Sophomore Noelle Cobb scored 8 points.

It was the first time since the 2011-12 season that the Hornets made it to the playoffs as second year coach Marcia Foster put together a feisty and talented team this season.
