The Hornets hosted #8 in SoCal Cypress College on Wednesday night and were beat by their district and conference rival 56-43.
The first quarter opened with a 2-2 tie, and then the Chargers took over outscoring the Hornets 15-7.
The second quarter was much the same as Cypress dominated ending the half with commanding 19-point lead (37-18).
For the game, Cypress outscored Fullerton 23-15 in points off of turnovers. Fullerton did manage to top Cypress in shooting percentage 25% to 28.8%, however the Hornets were a mere 33.3% from the free throw line. The Chargers shot 56.6%.
Cypress guard Sylvia Garcia came off the bench for a game-high 16 points. Alyssa Movchan scored 13 points and Bianca Silva pout up 12 of her own.
Fullerton had three players score 12 points in Jasmine Young, Monica Hanna, and Nancy De La Cruz. Young and Hana also had 7 rebounds a piece.
Up Next: It will not get any easier for the Hornets (5-13, 1-4) this week as they will will host #9 in SoCal Irvine Valley College (16-6, 4-2) this Friday, January 29th. Game time is at 5:00 pm.
