W. BASKETBALL: THEN & NOW - NOELLE COBB, A HURRICANE COACH

Former FC standout basketball player Noelle Cobb joins the coaching staff of the University of Miami Hurricanes.

It brings great joy to all of us on the Fullerton College campus to see our former student-athletes grow and achieve success.

Noelle Cobb played for the Hornet basketball team under head coach Marcia Foster for two seasons (2013-2015). She and Kelli Calton both led the team in scoring during the 2013-14 season with 11.6 points per game. During Cobb's sophomore campaign she was a 1st team All-Orange Empire Conference selection and led FC in scoring 15.1 points per game. In all, Noelle posted strong numbers for the Hornets scoring a career 738 points, 339 rebounds, 115 assists, and 72 steals. She ranks third in the school record books in points scored in a single game with 38 against Saddleback on January 16, 2015.

After her days at Fullerton College, Cobb went on to the University of La Verne where she averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds per game, while shooting 48.0 percent.

Noelle Cobb joined the University of Miami women's basketball staff in June 2019 as the video coordinator. Cobb came to Coral Gables after two years at UNC Greensboro, where she served as a graduate assistant. She was then promoted as an assistant coach.

"It isn't surprising to me that Noelle is continuing her rise in Division I women's basketball. That's what happens when someone who works as hard as Noelle does, is given an opportunity. From her days with us at Fullerton College, it was clear that she had the makings of someone who would accomplish amazing things in life. Sometimes, young people don't realize that how hard you work at, let's say the snack bar, something you may not want to do, is a direct reflection of how hard you will work in other areas of your life. And just like we could trust her to put in work on her game when we weren't watching, we had that same trust when we left her to run gyms on her own during club tournaments. How many kids want to mop the gym floor after working 12 hours as a scorekeeper? She did it without us asking. That is why I am not surprised at her ascent in the college ranks. She listens, she's coachable, she has always loved the game, and right now, she is being mentored by some of the best in the business. Once again, a Hornet is shining brightly. Fullerton College molds winners", said FC Head Coach Marcia Foster.
