W. GOLF: DE VILLE QUALIFIES FOR STATE TOURNEY

Hornet golfer Geri De Ville maintains competitive drive on day 2 of the SoCal Regionals and will represent Fullerton College at CCCAA State Championships at Morro Bay.
 
First-year competitor and 2nd team All Orange Empire Conference student-athlete, Geri De Ville of Fullerton College, continued her stellar play and shot 86 to follow her season-best 79 for two day total of 165 at Via Verde Country Club (par 72) in San Dimas, Calif. and qualified as the lone competitor to represent Fullerton College at CCCAA State Women's Golf Championship on 17 and 18 November at Morro Bay State Park Golf Course in Morro Bay, California.
 
Unable to maintain the same pace as day one, De Ville slipped from solo fifth place on Sunday and tied for seventh overall with with four other golfers; day one leader, Huruda Koda of College of the Canyons, (2018 CCCAA state runner up to Fullerton's Eunsoo Jeon AA 2019), shot a one over par 73 to go along with her opening day 72  the Southern California CCCAA regional Women's Golf Championships to win both the overall medalist title and lead College of the Canyons (Santa Clarita) to first place in the Southern California Regional Championship.
 
Colleges that qualified as teams were 1. College of the Canyons (645); 2. Saddleback College, (Mission Viejo) (674); 3. College of the Desert (Palm Desert) (682) 4. Santa Barbara City College (702).  In addition to the teams, the seven lowest individual scores qualified to represent Southern California at the CCCAA State Championship for a total of 30 competitors; Northern California will send the corresponding amount.
 
Fullerton College did not compete as a team, and will send only one competitor to the CCCAA championship as its second competitor, first-year student-athlete Hannah Chi, placed 47th with a two day total of 227 (105-122).
 
Up Next: Play begins on Sunday, November 17th at Morro Bay and continues on Monday, November 18th. Tee times are 8:00 am both days with a shotgun start. Highs temperatures are expected in the high 60s to low 70s; competitive scores will likely need to match the temperature.
