WOMEN' SOCCER: SHORT-HANDED HORNETS

The short-handed Hornets gave it their best at home against a strong Orange Coast College team on Tuesday before eventually falling 4-1.

The injury bug has hit the Hornets as they could only suit up 12 players.

OCC took a 1-0 lead when Aileen Ortiz scored in the third minute of the game. The assist was by Emilee Malec.

Fullerton did not fold evening it out 1-1 in the 10th minute on a shot by Emily Valdez who kicked the ball in from the left side after taking a pass from Marlena Carrillo.

The Hornets held the Pirates scoreless until the 40th minute when Ortiz struck again taking a loose ball and getting it past the keeper.

Orange Coast took over in the second half scoring 2 goals by Sydnee Busby in the 48th and 57th minutes.

FC goalie Marla Debarros put in some work blocking 12 shots in 90 minutes.

Up Next: The Hornets (3-10-3 overall, 1-8-3 OEC) will travel to Santa Ana College this Friday, October 28th. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
