WOMEN'S SOCCER: HORNETS STAND TALL AGAINST VIKINGS

The No. 16 Fullerton College women's soccer team played at Long Beach City College on Tuesday afternoon handing the Vikings their second loss on the season (2-1) in a non-conference match.

Long Beach took an early 1-0 lead at 13:54 on a shot by Allison Rose from Nathaly Silva.

Fullerton tied it up near the 23rd minute when Victoria Arrieta split two defenders setting up Kaelah Basurto's 4th goal of the season. Basurto came back to strike again with 5:45 left in regulation on a penalty kick to win the game.

The Hornet defense played exceptionally well after the LBCC's first goal allowing only one shot in the second half, which FC goalie Monica Balos stopped.

Up Next: Fullerton (4-1 overall) will host Santa Monica College this Friday, September 27th for a rematch of last season's SoCal Regionals. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
