WOMEN’S SOCCER: TWO MORE HORNETS LEAVE THE NEST

Sophomores Kaelah Basurto and Audrey Ochoa both made their decisions final on Friday signing with four-year colleges.

Family, friends, teammates, and coaches gathered to celebrate Kaelah Basurto and Audrey Ochoa. Their hard work as student-athletes the past two years paid off as they move on to the four-year level.

Signing with Cal State Los Angeles, Basurto was a two-time All-Orange Empire Conference selection and team captain for FC. In 25 games played this season, Kaelah led the Hornets with 13 goals and 5 assists.

Committing to the University of Maine at Fort Kent, Ochoa did not miss a game this season starting in all 21 games for Fullerton. Her strong defensive skills helped propel the Hornets to the playoffs the last two seasons.

"I am really going to miss both of these scholar athletes. In their two years at Fullerton College they have helped create a competitive culture both on the field and classroom. I know they will have continued success at the next level", Hornet Head Coach Pam Lewin.
