W. SOCCER: REBOUND WIN

Losing to Orange Coast 1-0 last Friday, the Hornets needed a win today at home against Irvine Valley College and answered the call with a 4-1 victory over the Lasers.

The win helps FC to 4-6-1 in the Orange Empire Conference while the loss holds IVC winless in the OEC at 0-9-1.

Irvine Valley took an early lead in the 4th minute on a goal by Yvonne Ventura. Ventura kicked ball hard from 18-yards out and it sailed out of reach to the back right section of the goal.

FC did not waste any time tying the game up just two minutes later on a 6-yard pooch kick inside the box from Ashley Bautista.

At the 32 minute-mark, Izabelle Garcia hit an unassisted shot to bottom right corner putting Fullerton up 2-1.

Megan Nickerson knocked in an insurance goal to the bottom left corner with the assist coming from Garcia.

With less than a minute left in the game, Julia Hernandez knocked in the game-sealing goal to the back right corner of the goal.

FC goalie Cindy Suarez had 2 saves with a goal against in 90 minutes.
