WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD: DILIGENT RUNNERS SIGN

Hornet runners Daisy Esparza and Alethea Streeter are moving on to Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.

After a very successful community college career, Daisy Esparza and Alethea (AKA Tia) Streeter, move up to the next level to run for the Mustangs. Both ladies, mid-year transfers, are ready to compete for the Mustangs for this 2015 Track and Field season.

"I am excited to have these two wonderful ladies. They will fit into our family and program. Their hard work fits our mold and will help with the team competitiveness", Head Coach, Koby Styles for MSU.

Daisy Esparza graduated from El Dorado High School and came over to Fullerton College with only two years of running experience. She competed both of her Cross Country and Track and Field seasons here at FC.

"Hard work pays off with dedication," Esparza claims. "I want to become a better athlete every year". Daisy is a double All American track athlete with the 5000 and 10,000 meters. She also holds MVP titles in both sports plus is the Arthur Nunn Memorial Award. Adding to her achievements here are her school records in both the 5K and 10K. She also was First Team All OEC for Cross Country her sophomore year. Her major is in Education and hopes to teach with elementary school kids.

Tia Streeter is an Exercise Physiology major with an emphasis in Kinesiology. After running at Kennedy High School. "I developed teamwork here at FC." "It motivated me to move forward with my academics and sports", said Streeter. She was the MVP for the lady Hornets this past Cross Country season and was awarded the All-State Academic Award for her 2013 Cross Country season. "I want to achieve higher goals and my expectations are to do the best I can." In her sophomore Cross Country season, just like her teammate Daisy, Streeter was also a First Team All-OEC selection for Cross Country.

Head Coaches Gina Bevec and Wade Watkins believe that this is a great opportunity for these ladies. We are proud of all of their strength of characters they gave the Hornets", said Bevec.

The Hornets look forward to following these two young ladies and their endeavors.
