Two of Southern California's top teams met yesterday for an Orange Empire Conference match-up as the Hornets took on Golden West College and fell in a tough one 9-6.
Both teams came out in the first quarter sparring to a 2-2 tie. In the second, the Rustlers took a two-point lead going up 7-5 at halftime.
In the second half, GWC kept a stranglehold on to the lead holding Fullerton to two goals in the third quarter and one goal in the fourth.
Goalie Maddi Garcia had 12 saves and a steal on the day.
Hornet goals: Ashley Garcia (1), Veronica Ramirez (1), Bianca Vera (2), and Gabbi Perez (2).
Up Next: The Hornets (4-1 overall, 0-1 conference) will play at the Mt. San Antonio College Tournament September 23-24.
