WOMEN'S WATER POLO: HORNETS ALL-OEC AND ALL-AMERICAN
Five OEC Champion Hornets were selected to the 2016 All-Orange Empire Conference team with state goal-leader Gabbi Perez earning Co-MVP and All-American honors.
Hornet sophomore Gabbi Perez was named CO-MVP of the OEC leading the conference and state with 185 goals, 87 assists, and 123 steals. The closest goal scorer in the state was Santa Rosa's Annika Erikson with 121 goals.
For their efforts this season, Perez and Vaccher were chosen to the All-American team. Perez was a first team selection and Vaccher was a second team selection.
Making first team All-OEC honors was sophomore Marissa Vaccher and freshman Maddi Garcia. Vaccher was second on the team with 91 goals scored, 47 assists, and 53 steals. Goalie Maddi Garcia led the conference in saves with 295.
Making second team honors were freshmen Bianca Vera and Veronica Ramirez. Vera totaled 76 goals, 47 assists, and 81 steals. Ramirez had 46 goals 38 assists, and 47 steals on the season.
Orange Empire Conference runner-up Riverside City College's Emily Martin was named CO-MVP as she led her team to championship game with a team-high 88 goals scored.
