W. WATER POLO: LEIVAS TO OTTAWA UNIVERSITY

Sophomore state champion Diana Leivas will be playing in Arizona for Ottawa University next spring under head coach Logan Powell.

Leivas first came to Fullerton College in 2018 where she scored 37 goals, had 9 assists, and 18 steals helping the Hornets to a 29-3 record and an Orange Empire Conference title. FC went all the way to the state championship game that year and lost in a heartbreaker 7-6 to Sierra College.

In 2019, Leivas played a substantial role in helping the Hornets to their second state title under head coach Gabriel Martinez. Diana had 25 goals, 19 assists, and 16 steals in a season where Fullerton ran the table with an overall record of 32-3.

"I am very excited for Diana as she's worked very hard to earn this opportunity. I look forward to watching her play at the four-year level", said Coach Martinez.

In Leivas, OUAZ is getting a strong player that will be ready to compete now for first-year head coach Logan Powell. Powell is very familiar with SoCal talent as he coached at San Clemente High for ten seasons winning seven league titles. His playing days were spent at UCLA where he helped the Bruins win the 2004 NCAA National Championship.
