CROSS COUNTRY: BRUBAKER INVITATIONAL

Fullerton showed well at the Brubaker Invitational on Friday at Irvine Regional Park in Orange.

The men's team placed 8th overall out of fifteen teams with two runners finishing in the top 20.

Once again Brandon Velsaco led the way for the Hornets finishing in 13th place in the 4-mile run out of 152 runners with a time of 21:20.3. Manuel Ruiz came in at 20th place overall with a time of 21:45.1 and Johnny Nava took 39th finishing at 22:25.6. Jonathan Sheatz placed 49th at 22:45 and Matthew Castillo came in at 22:50.2 placing 54th overall. Ramiro Espinoza finished at 23:25.2 and Kahled Tawa came in right behind at 23:27.5 for 73rd and 74th place. Nosset Miles (23:53.2), Raul Bustamonte (23:58.3), and Javin De La Torre (24:03.9) rounded out the rest of the squad.

For the women, Tia Streeter ran the 5K with a time of 20:30 coming in 20th place out of 96 runners.

Up Next: The Hornets will compete at the Mt. SAC Invitational in Walnut on Friday, October 17th @ 10:00 am.
