JUAN CUEVAS: 3CATA SPECIAL SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENT!

Fullerton College Athletic Trainer Juan Cuevas has been selected to receive the Special Service Award from the 3CATA!

This award honors his outstanding dedication and service to the California Community College Athletic Trainers Association (3CATA).

Hired at Fullerton College in the spring of 2006, Juan has been responsible for public relations and social media for the 3CATA, elevating the visibility of the organization and showcasing the hard work of its members. His efforts have enhanced the 3CATA's outreach and engagement, contributing to the growth and recognition of the organization.

For his dedication and hard work, Juan will be recognized at this year's annual meeting on May 31st, in Palm Springs.

A former Fullerton College student under FC Hall of Famers Bill Chambers, Lisa Nelson and David Chaffin, Cuevas earned his BS in Kinesiology - Emphasis in Athletic Training from CSUF in 2000 and has been a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer since 2000. An active member of the Far West Athletic Trainers' Association (FWATA), Juan is also a member of the California Athletic Trainers' Association (CATA) and the California Community College Athletic Training Association (CCCATA). He became a Preceptor in 2004 and currently serves as Preceptor for the Master of Science in Athletic Training Programs at California State University, Fullerton and Cal Baptist University. Cuevas' body of work includes an internship with the St Louis Rams in 1999, Assistant Athletic Trainer at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, physical therapy aide at ProSport Physical Therapy and Director of Student Health Services/Head Athletic Trainer at JSerra Catholic High School just prior to joining the Hornets. During his time at Fullerton College, Juan's accomplishments include Clinical Instructors/Preceptor of the year, Inaugural FWATA Life Saver Award, NOCCCD Classified Professional of the year and CCCAA Athletic Trainer of the Year.
