BASEBALL: JOEY PARENTE & LEWIS-CLARK STATE

Hornet centerfielder Joey Parente received a scholarship from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho last week.

Parente was a star-player for the Hornets the last two seasons earning All Conference, All American, and All State honors in his career at FC.

This past season, Joey had 60 hits with a batting average of .349.He had 34 runs and 19 RBI with a team-high 15 stolen bases. Joey also had a team-high in triples with 8 and finished with 9 doubles.

For his career, Parente left a significant mark on the Hornet record book placing in the top ten in nine categories. He currently sits as the all-time leader in career at-bats (358) and hits (130) surpassing his hitting coach Mitch Levier (at-bats 355 / hits 126).

Since 1984, the Lewis–Clark State baseball team has won an astounding eighteen NAIA national championships.

"Joey is truly a great Hornet and will continue his career at a great four-year college. I wish him nothing the best in his playing career, and I know he will make us proud", Hornet Head Coach Nick Fuscardo.
