
BASEBALL: HORNETS EXPLODE IN COMEBACK WIN
The Hornets took on West Los Angeles College at home Friday afternoon and put on a hitting clinic in the 8th for a come-from-behind 11-5 victory over the Wildcats.
Down 5-1 heading into the bottom of the 8th, Fullerton exploded with 10 unanswered runs winning the non-conference game
Dean Drake had an outstanding day at the plate going 3-4 with 5 RBI. His grand slam to right in the 8th tied the game up at 5 apiece. He also went on to smack a triple in the same inning.
Tony Accordino scored Fullerton's first run of the game in the 2nd on a single homer that went over the left field ivy.
Overall, the FC offense showed off its firepower with 10 hits, 11 runs, while only stranding 1 runner.
Starting pitcher Bryce Barnett tossed 7 strong innings allowing 6 hits, 3 earned, with 6 K's. and no walks. Adam Armstrong (2-1) snagged his second win of the season going 1.2 innings with no runs against, 1 hit, with a walk.
Up Next: The Hornets and Wildcats will go at it again tomorrow (Sat., February 29th) at West L.A. The first pitch goes out at noon.
