HORNETS HUNT DOWN TIGERS - WIN SERIES

The FC baseball squad welcomed Riverside City to Hornet Field on Saturday and blanked the Tigers 3-0 to win the Orange Empire Conference series two games to one.

Taking the series from RCC helped place the Hornets in a three-way tie for second place in the OEC with Santa Ana (8-6) and Saddleback (8-6). Golden West sits in first place, with at-worst a share of the title with an overall record of 26-11 and a conference record of 13-5.

As for the game three with the Tigers, who won game two at RCC 10-4, the contest was a scoreless pitcher's duel until the bottom of the sixth when Fullerton scored the only three runs. Rudy Gonzales hit a single through the left side plating two runners in Trevor Schmidt and Britton Beeson. Jacob Larson then reached on a fielder's choice allowing Gonzalez to come across.

FC starter Vincent Segovia earned the win going 6 innings with 3 hits against, no runs, had 1 walk, and 5 Ks. Andrew Carren tossed 2 innings in relief with 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 walks, and 1 K.
