
2025 WALL OF HONOR INDUCTION A SUCCESS
Memories were shared and the past was honored for the 2025 Fullerton College Wall of Honor inductions held at the Hornet Baseball Field on Sunday.
Former Fullerton College head baseball coach Nick Fuscardo led the way inducting five Hornet baseball ballers from the past as current head coach Chad Baum and the team participated in the celebration.
The 2025 Honorees
Kurt Beamesderfer - 1984
Kurt was an All-Freeway League player for the Troy High School Warriors. After graduating from Troy, he attended USC playing for legendary Trojan Head Coach Rod Dedeaux for one season. Kurt soon transferred to Fullerton College where he starred as the catcher for the Hornets earning All-Conference honors. After his time at Fullerton, Kurt signed with the Baltimore Orioles where he played for five seasons before finishing his career with the Texas Rangers. Kurt and his wife Connie reside in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dennis Duncanson - 1975-76
Dennis came to Fullerton College after a fabulous career at Sunny Hills High where he was an All-Freeway League football and baseball star. Once at Fullerton, he turned heads with his dual-sport athleticism becoming an All-Conference football player under Hal Sherbeck and an All-Conference baseball player under Mike Sgobba. Dennis was also the recipient of the prestigious "Art Nunn" Award in 1976. Transferring to Weber State to play football, Duncanson became a two-time All-Conference and All-American player leading the nation in interceptions his junior season with 10. After graduation, he came back to Fullerton College to work as a graduate assistant before moving on to a successful career as a medical supplies salesman. Dennis was inducted into the Weber State Hall of Fame in 1994. He resides in Orange.
Terry Hart - 1976-77
Terry was a two-time All-Eastern Conference outfielder for the Hornets during the 1976 and 1977 seasons. He transferred to Humboldt State after graduating from Fullerton College where he was a two-time All-Northern California Athletic Conference outfielder. Hart played high school ball under Head Coach Bill Wilson at Sonora and was a four-year starter at centerfield. He earned All-CIF and All-County honors for three seasons. Recently retired as a successful business owner, Terry lives in beautiful Prescott, Arizona.
Dennis Murphy Jr. - 1975-76
Dennis came to Fullerton College after a great career at Garden Grove High School. A strong leader and player for FC head coach Mike Sgobba, Murphy's experiences on and off the field led him to his great successes later in life. Learning his business sense from his father Dennis Sr., Murphy watched his dad co-found the American Basketball Association (ABA), World Hockey Association, World Team Tennis and Roller Hockey International. Young Dennis then started the very successful venture of the National Junior Basketball League (NJB) in 1984, which continues to thrive as one of the best youth basketball leagues in the country. Murphy Jr. also founded the Officials Association helping many young men and women to learn the basics of basketball and baseball.
Tim Painton - 1976-77
Tim was an All-Conference player for the Hornets. After his career at Fullerton College, he transferred to Fresno State where he played for ABCA and National College Hall of Famer Bob Bennett. Painton spent three years in the Giants and Angels organizations before embarking on a 40-year college coaching career that began with Fresno State as an assistant (1983-92), a head coaching stint with Porterville College (1993-95), and then moved on to his long-term head coaching job at Bakersfield College (1996-22). Collecting over 640 wins with 13 post season appearances during his tenure at Bakersfield College, Painton helped 244 players move on to four-year schools, had 39 MLB draftees, including two 1st rounders (Colby Lewis '99, Phil Dumatrait '00), had and 6 players who played major league baseball. For all his years of success and dedication, Tim was inducted into the CCCBCA Hall of Fame in 2024. He and his wife Kim have two children, Tyler and McKenna. Tyler played baseball at Oregon State and Oakland A's organization, and McKenna played volleyball at University of Arizona. Tim and Kim reside in Mesa, Arizona.
