It was the Southern Conference opener for Orange Coast and Fullerton with the Pirates heading off the Hornets 31-23.
A tough night, #5 Fullerton (2-2 overall, 0-1 conference) seemed to be gaining momentum after beating Mt. SAC and Cerritos the last two weeks. #15 Orange Coast (2-2, 1-0) came into the game with one win on the season and had not beaten Fullerton since 2007 (35-34 in overtime).
Tonight was the Pirate's night as they fought through an early 14-point deficit in the first quarter then flipped it around in the second scoring 24 points on four big plays. Fullerton would not recover.
Up Next: The Hornets will travel south to LeBard Stadium to take on undefeated Golden West College (4-0) next Saturday, October 3rd. Kickoff will be at 6:00 pm.
