HORNETS EARN ALL-SCFA HONORS
The SCFA National Southern coaches made their end of season selections last week with 11 Hornets earning honors.
The FC defense had quite a season holding its opponents to 175 total points (8th in the state/3rd in SoCal) with three shutouts. The three shutout games were a first under defensive coordinator Brian Crooks, who has been at the helm since 1998. The last team to do this was the 1967 National Championship team. Four shutouts are the most that a Fullerton team has had in a season with the 1968, 1953, 1947, 1942, 1940, and 1933 squads achieving the feat.
The Co-Defensive Player of the Year award went to Fullerton freshman Ethan Charpentier, who led the conference with 104 tackles. Second on the list is Palomar's Jaiden Letua with 75 tackles. The Hornet defense has a prideful history of claiming the Defensive MVP in the last decade. Charpentier joins a list of Hornet greats in Thomas Cletcher (2015), Justin Parcells (2016), Montre Bonner (2017), Joey Noble (2018), Josh Tarango (2019), and Branson Tita-Nwa (2023).
