MEN’S BASKETBALL: HORNETS OUT RUN GRIFFINS

The FC men's basketball team traveled south to the greater San Diego area to play at Grossmont College, and brought down the Griffins 83-56.

Ranked No. 2 in the state and No. 1 in Southern California, Fullerton (12-1) kept Grossmont winless (0-13) hitting 50% of their shots from beyond the three-point line (14-28) and by out-rebounding the Griffins 40-29.

FC came out strong in the first five minutes taking a13-5 lead thanks to a pair of three-pointers by Jailen Moore. The Hornets maintained their lead and cruised into the half with a 50-28 edge.

The second half was all Fullerton as they went on to take their largest lead of 35 with 6:40 left in the game. Omajae Smith knocked down a three-pointer bumping the score to 78-43.

Four Hornets scored in double-digits in Moore (18), Rodrick McCobb (17), Lance Coleman II (17), and Ronne Readus (12). Smith had 6 points with 7 assists.

Up Next: The Hornets (12-1 overall) will host South Mountain, Arizona (4-6 overall) on Saturday, December 22nd. Tipoff is at 2:00 pm.
