After reclaiming the top spot in the state on Monday, the No. 1 Hornets opened conference-play with a convincing 115-75 win over Golden West College at home Tuesday night.

Fullerton jumped out to a 14-0 lead at the start of the game and did let up. By the three-minute mark, RJ Banks' 3-pointer pushed the Hornet's lead to 19 points (41-22). By the halftime break FC owned a 49-32 edge.

The Hornets put a stamp on the game in the second half draining three after three. At one point in the half, the team had drained an incredible eight straight three-point-shot attempts. In total, Fullerton hit 15 three's out of 31 attempts (48.4%).

Putting up 115 points put the 2022-23 team in the FC record books at No. 14th overall for the highest scoring game. The top spot is 137 points against San Bernardino Valley College back in 1990.

Godfrey Little came off the bench to lead all scorers in the game with 21 points. He was an incredible 7 for 9 from beyond the arc. Shaquil Bender stepped up with 17 points, while Mike Ofoegbu delivered 13 points along with 13 boards for a double-double. Kobe Newton and Sean Newman Jr. both had 11 points each. Newman Jr. also had 9 assists and 7 rebounds. Sammy Howlin and Jeremiah Davis followed with 10 points each. RJ Banks and Javon Jones chipped in with 8 points apiece.   

Up Next: FC (12-1 overall, 1-0 OEC) will host another conference game on Thursday, December 22nd when they welcome Santa Ana College to the Hornets Nest. Tipoff is at 6:00 pm.
