BACK TO BACK WINS OVER GOLDEN WEST

In a Monday night conference road-game, the No. 1 Hornets completed the season sweep with a 99-64 win over Golden West College.

The victory marks the 7th straight season that FC has hit the 20-game win mark since Head Coach Perry Webster took the reins of the program. Boasting the best record in the state, Fullerton (20-1 overall, 9-0 OEC) is the first team to net its 20th win. 

The Hornets did not waste any time grabbing a 21-11 lead in the first five minutes of the game that was highlighted by Shaquil Bender's three-pointer. At the seven minute-mark, Godfrey Little joined in on the sharp-shooting with a trey of his own putting FC up 42-20. Holding a strong 62-30 lead by the halftime break, Fullerton was well in charge of the game.

Holding the Rustlers in a headlock for the remainder of the second half, the Hornets walked away with the conference win remaining undefeated in the OEC. FC's bench points totaled an outstanding 52, while GWC earned 22. 

Shaquil Bender was the Hornet's highest scorer with 21 points. Godfrey Little came off the bench to score 14 adding 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Three players 9 points in Sammy Howlin (6 rebounds), RJ Banks (4 rebounds/3 assists), and Javon Jones (4 rebounds). Kobe Newton and Jackson Hopps (5 rebounds) both dropped in 8 points each.  Sean Newman Jr. (6 assists) and Mike Ofoegbu (7 rebounds) scored 5 points apiece.

Up Next: The No. 1 Hornets (20-1 overall, 9-0 OEC) will play game two of their three-game road series this week this Wednesday, January 25th when they travel to Santa Ana College (7-13, 3-5). Tipoff is at 6:00 pm. On Friday, FC takes a short trip down the 91 Freeway to Cypress College to take on the Chargers at 6:00 pm.
