In an Orange Empire Conference home-game, No. 4 Fullerton takes Orange Coast College apart 79-41 Wednesday night.
The victory marks the 7th straight for FC placing the team in sole possession of first place in the OEC with a 5-0 record. It was the first conference loss of the season for the Pirates, who now sit in a tie for second with rival Santiago Canyon College with a 3-1 record.
It was a one-car race as the Hornets darted off with an early 25-9 lead and never let up on the gas pedal. Fullerton owned almost every category out-shooting the Pirates 42.5% to 23.8%, out-rebounding their opponent 57-40, and outscoring their bench 35-16.
Christian Watson led all scorers in the game with 18 points, had 5 assists, 4 blocks, and 4 rebounds. Justin Davis had a solid outing with 11 points (3 for 4 from beyond the 3-point arc). JQ Strong dropped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Amound Anderson II had 8 points with 4 rebounds, while Jaden Byers matched Anderson with 8 points and 5 rebounds. Andrew Pipersburgh brought down 12 rebounds and helped with 6 points.
