MEN'S SOCCER: HORNETS DODGE LASERS

The FC men's soccer team was victorious on the road on Tuesday breaking a two-game losing streak against Irvine Valley College 4-1.

The win gives the Hornet record a boost to 3-4-3 overall and a 1-2 record in the Orange Empire Conference, while IVC was knocked to 2-5-3 overall and 1-2 in the OEC.

Fullerton got on the board first on a long goal from 45 yards out by William Rodriguez

The Hornets made it 2-0 nine minutes into the second half after a handball was called in the IVC box. Brian Jaquez converted the penalty kick.

Irvine Valley regained some momentum and got a goal back in the 67th minute, but Fullerton closed the door on the Lasers with two more goals, both by Jaquez. He scored in the 67th and then 90th minutes to give the Hornets the three-goal victory.

FC goalies Estevan Romero and Marco Barrera were solid on the day splitting halves as Romero had 1 goal against with 1 save and Barrera had no goals against with 1 save.
