BACK IN THE SADDLE

After a 1-3 start to the season, the FC men's soccer team got back in the win column on Thursday up north with a 2-1 win against Cañada College.

Averaging a goal in their first four matches, the Hornets pulled the monkey off their back punching in two goals for the needed win.

It did not look too good early on as the Colts scored in the 10th minute on an unassisted goal by Nico Flores.

Fullerton did not blink and answered back with a goal in the 19th minute by Nima Ahmari with the assist coming from Cesar Zamora.

The match remained a 1-1 tie until the 89th minute when Misael Gonzalez took the feed from Sergio Ibarra for the winning shot.

Freshman goalie Hayden Frost did well in his first college game in the box with 5 saves and 1 goal against.

Up Next: The Hornets (2-3 overall) will continue their Northern California tour playing at Santa Rosa on Saturday, September 10th. Game time is at 11:00 am.
