Both the Chargers and Hornets remain undefeated in the Orange Empire Conference after a last-second goal by Fullerton wrapped the game up in a 1-1 tie.
Cypress came to Fullerton for a rematch of their battle last October 1st, which also ended in a 1-1 tie. Both teams are the only ones left in the OEC with unblemished records with Cypress holding a 3-0-5 record and Fullerton sitting in first place at 6-0-2.
Another defensive fight, the Chargers and Hornets kept each other scoreless throughout the first half. It was not until deep into the second half when Cypress scored the game's first goal. In the 67th minute, Angel Cristobal took the assist from Issac Morales hitting a chip-shot from 5-yards out.
With time ticking off the clock, the Hornets were in dire straits as Cesar Marquez dribbled the ball down to the middle of the field and drilled it hard from 25-yards for a much-needed Hornet goal.
Ryan Moreno-Rojas was solid in the goalie box for Fullerton with 3 saves in 90 minutes.
Up Next: Fullerton (10-3-3 overall, 6-0-2 OEC) will get back at it again on Tuesday, October 29th when they travel to Orange Coast College. Game time is at 7:00 pm.
