SWEEPING IRVINE VALLEY

SWEEPING IRVINE VALLEY

Fullerton completes the season-sweep of the Irvine Valley and remains undefeated in the Orange Empire Conference after locking down a 3-2 road-win against the Lasers on Tuesday.

With only three regular season games left in the season, the Hornets (9-0-2) are in complete control of their own destiny as they hone in for an OEC title three-peat. The loss sends IVC to 5th place in the OEC standings with a record of 4-6-1.

The game was not a walk in the park for the Hornets as Irvine Valley seemed to shadow their every move. Hayden Kenny got it started for FC knocking in a shot in the 18th minute. The assist came from Jacob Ponce. The Lasers hit back in the 31st minute when Mason Tracey scored with the assist coming from Moises Delgado. With five minutes left before the halftime whistle blew, Josiahs Palacios put the Hornets up 2-1 thanks to a nice assist by Pedro Delgado.

Fullerton did it's best to keep IVC off the scoreboard in the second half, but the Lasers managed to tie the game up in the 57th minute on Marcio Costa's goal (assist by Luke Newman).

With time winding down, the Hornets punched in the game-winner in the 88th minute when Hayden Kenny took the feed from Cesar Marquez for his second goal of the day.

Fullerton goalie Steven Martinez had 3 saves in 90 minutes.
