TWO WINS LIFT THE HORNETS
The FC men's tennis team knocked out two straight wins beating El Camino College on Friday 8-1 and Mt. SAC on Monday 8-1.
For Friday's matches, the doubles team of David Gutierrez and Michael Lumang dominated their El Camino opponents with an 8-0 victory. Despite a strong effort by Sebastian Koster and Felix Jayamaha, they lost a tight one to the Warriors 5-7. Fullerton's Matthew Doria and Ubaldo Gomez clinched doubles-play by default.
The Hornets won all of their singles matches with Felix Jayamaha clinching the match 6-0, 6-0. Other winners were Sebastian Koster (6-3, 6-4), Michael Lumang (6-1, 6-1), Matthew Doria (6-0, 6-0), Ubaldo Gomez (6-0, 6-1), and David Gutierrez (default).
On Monday, Fullerton remained hot sweeping Mt. SAC in doubles-play with wins by Sebastian Koster/Felix Jayamaha (8-1), David Gutierrez/Michael Lumang (8-4), and Matthew Doria/Joseph Chatters (8-5).
In singles agains the Mounties, it was Michael Lumang that clinched it for the Hornets winning 6-1, 6-0. Sebastian Koster sailed through his match 6-1, 6-0, David Gutierrez won 6-2, 6-4, and Felix Jayamaha won 6-3-6-0. Matthew Doria battled it out for a 3-6, 7-6-5, 1-0-5 victory.
Up Next: The Hornets (6-3 overall, 2-2 OEC) will play again this Friday, March 7th when the team travels down to San Diego City College for a non-conference match at 2:00 pm.
