
SQUEEZING ORANGES ON SOPHOMORE DAY
The Hornets hosted Orange Empire Conference rival Orange Coast College on Thursday and made it count squeezing past the Pirates 5-4.
It was "Sophomore Day" for Fullerton and the FC coaching staff honored second-year players David Gutierrez, Felix Jayamaha, Sebastian Koster, and Michael Lumang for their dedication in the classroom and on the court.
In doubles-play, the Hornets gained an early advantage sweeping Orange Coast 3-0 thanks to wins by Sebastian Koster/Felix Jayamaha (8-3), David Gutierrez/Michael Lumang (8-6), and Matthew Doria/Joseph Chatters (8-6).
In singles, Fullerton needed two match-wins and locked them down. Sebastian Koster dominated his match 6-0, 6-0, and Michael Lumang clinched it for the Hornets 7-5, 6-1.
Up Next: The Hornets (8-5 overall, 3-3 OEC) play one more OEC match at home on Friday, March 21st vs. Irvine Valley College at 2:00 pm. Then on Monday, Fullerton heads out for a three-match road tour beginning Monday, March 24th at Ventura College at 2:00 pm.
