MEN'S TRACK & FIELD: 3RD PLACE OEC FINISH
The Hornet men had some good all-around performances at Santa Ana College Friday scoring 66 team points to take 3rd in the Orange Empire Conference Championships.
Xavion Steele had two 4th place finishes in the 100m and 200m races, running 10.77 and 21.62 seconds. Steele also runs on the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
After taking 2nd in the 10,000m race last week, Ian Rusk came back and took 2nd again, this time at 5,000m, in a time of 15:42.
Nathan Wong had a big personal best in the triple jump, taking 3rd place, jumping 44'3 1.4."
Andrew Fernando took 6th place in the 1500m, taking the last automatic qualifier for the SoCal Regional.
Ryan Sheatz ran 2:00.27 in the 800m, and will move on to the Regional as an at-large athlete.
Up Next: The Hornets have 12 men who will be competing in the SoCal Regional Prelim at Riverside College, Saturday, May 4th.
