COME-BACK WIN FOR HORNETS

The Hornets hosted Palomar College on Wednesday night and earned their second win against the Comets in come-back fashion 3-2.

It was not a good start for Fullerton as the team dropped the first two sets of the match 25-16 and 25-15. After game two, the Hornets went outside, got it together, and came back into the gym a different team. In set three, the Comets and FC went back and fourth, until FC took an 20-18 lead. From there, the Hornets pushed ahead with a 25-23 win. Game four was another close one as both teams played it very close. Fullerton snuck a 20-15 advantage before taking it 25-22. Forcing a game five, FC fell behind early 4-0, but marched back in it at 7-7. With the score tied at 13 apiece, the Hornets knocked down the next couple of points to seal the win. It was Sebastian Acosta's kill that scored the 15th point.

Three FC players hammered down 11 kills on the night in Caden SmithAlex Guastella and TJ AlailmaSebastian Acosta had 8 kills and Isac Malaga had 5. Evan Shank had 32 assists with 7 digs. Ethan Mizushima led the team in digs with 11.

Up Next: The Hornets (2-11 overall, 1-1 OEC) will play another conference match on Wednesday, March 13th when they travel south to Orange Coast College. Match time is at 6:00 pm.
