The FC men's volleyball team opened the 2025 season last week winning one on the road and one at home.
Fullerton begins the season 2-0 for the first time since the 2020 season after a 3-0 road win at Palomar last Wednesday and a 3-1 win at home on Thursday.
At Palomar College on Wednesday, the Hornets brought down the Comets in straight sets 25-20, 25-18, and 25-17. Curtis Lee led the way for FC hammering down 8 kills, while Samuel Chavez followed closely with 7. Evan Shank dished out 27 assists, and Keegan Martyn had 16 digs.
Fullerton welcomed Grossmont College to the Nest Thursday night and got past the Griffins three sets to one. The Hornets pulled off a close one in the first set 23-25 but then fell in the second set in another battle 25-23. FC was able to put it all together winning the next two sets 22-25 and 19-25. Shon Schugk had a great match with a game-high 17 kills with 3 solo blocks. Curtis Lee cashed in 13 kills with 3 digs, while Jasper Nadelson chipped in with 8 kills and 3 solo blocks. Noah Spellman had 6 total blocks (3 solo). Keegan Martyn mopped the floor with 19 digs, and Evan Shank chalked up 50 assists.
Up Next: The Hornets (2-0 overall) will host Santiago Canyon College this Wednesday, February 5th to begin Orange Empire Conference-play. Match-time is at 6:00 pm.
