SOFTBALL: BIG COMEBACK VICTORY OVER SANTA ANA

The Lady Hornets pulled off a fantastic 8-6 comeback-win at home against Santa Ana College on Friday.

Fullerton scored the game's first run in the first on a single by Anissa Loera that scored Brigid Ruiz, who had hit a triple with two outs on the board.

Santa Ana came back in the second inning scoring three runs taking a 3-1 lead. Marissa Moser's single brought Karina Munoz home, Mercedes Munoz hit a single scoring Alexandra Hernandez, and then Hattie Marshall reached on a fielder's choice scoring Moser.

The Dons added two more runs in the third when Moser got on base on a FC error allowing Alexandra Hernandez and Madison Graham to come home.

After exchanging a few runs, the score was 6-2 in Santa Ana's favor heading into the bottom of the fifth. FC took advantage of a couple of Don errors scoring two runs putting them in reach of a comeback at 6-4.

In the sixth, Fullerton dropped an incredible four runs on Santa Ana for the 8-6 conference win. Desiree Lopez got it going with a doubled that scored Tiffiny Centeno. Becca Perez got in the mix with a single that scored Lopez. Then Ruiz made it dramatic hitting her third triple of the day scoring Alyssa Dilay and Perez for the win.

Ruiz then came back in the game as the pitcher to close the game out. She earned her first save of the season on a ground out, a strikeout, and a lineout. Ariana Ramirez grabbed her first win of the season tossing 2.2 innings with 3 hits allowed.

Up Next: The Hornets (21-13, 10-6) will play at Saddleback College on Wednesday, April 13th. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
