TWO FOR ONE WINS

The Hornets pulled off two 8-0 mercy-wins over Golden West College at home Wednesday.

The first game of the day was a continuation from March 17th that resumed in the 5th inning. Already up on the Rustlers 3-0, Fullerton Coco Siono led it off with a walk and Serina Vu was hit by a pitch. With both on, Meah Almaraz knocked a hard double to left center scoring Vue and Siono. Up 5-0 in the fifth, the Hornets continued on with two more runs. With the bases loaded Alendy Aguilar worked the count for a walk scoring Haley PerezMika Ibarra singled to left field scoring Olivia Nunez. FC finished the game off in the sixth thanks to Serina Vue's knock to center field plating Jordan Elias. Allyson Fuentes got the win going 5 innings with 2 hits against, no runs, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout.

In the second scheduled game, Allyson Fuentes pitched a gem going 5 innings with 3 hits against, no runs, no walks, and had 3 strikeouts. The game was scoreless until the third inning when Fullerton put up three runs. Coco Siono came up and cranked a double to center field allowing Mika Ibarra to come home. Serina Vue then singled to left field plating Siono. Meah Almaraz took off for second attempting a steal, and Vue had the same idea for home. Both were successful as GWC tried to gun down Vue at home.

Up 3-0 going into the fifth inning, the Hornets added three more runs enforcing the mercy-rule. Jordan Elias hit a single that got through the left side scoring Siono. Meah Almaraz ripped a single to right field brining in Elias. With two on base, FC wrapped up the game in grand fashion when Haley Perez hit an inside-the-park-home run that sailed to deep right field scoring Alyssa Garcia and Karleigh Bennington.
