ALL-ORANGE EMPIRE CONFERENCE MVPs
With the announcement of the All-Orange Empire Conference team on Friday, the No. 1 Hornets laid claim to a large share of the awards with Jordan Elias being named MVP while Allyson Fuentes and Macy Brandl were named Co-MVP Pitchers.
Sophomore 2B Jordan Elias has been on a tear this season hitting a sizzling .485 to lead the conference in batting average (4th in state) with 64 hits, 42 runs, 25 RBI, and 17 stolen bases.
Fullerton has been very fortunate to have two shut-down pitchers this season in sophomore Allyson Fuentes and Macy Brandl. Fuentes has now earned back-to-back MVP Co-pitcher of the year honors sporting a 1.46 ERA this season with a 16-2 overall record. In 124.2 innings pitched so far this season, Allyson has racked up 92 Ks with only 15 walks. Freshman Macy Brandl has been locked in this season with a 1.08 ERA and has an impressive 20-2 overall record. In a 142.1 innings pitched thus far, she has 152 Ks and 31 walks.
Earning 1st team All-OEC honors is sophomore outfielder Haley Garcia, who is currently batting .439 (2nd in OEC) with 54 hits, 35 runs, 28 RBI, and 16 stolen bases.
Making 2nd Team All-OEC, are Veronica Moore (1B/freshman) and Alyssa Garcia (OF/sophomore). Moore is batting .421 with 48 hits, 20 runs, and is leading the conference with 39 RBI. FC's school record is 46 RBI set by Anabel Mendez in 2019. Alyssa Garcia is batting .388 with 31 hits, 20 runs, and 19 RBI.
Getting the nod for All-OEC Honorable Mention are freshman Angelina Granado (.390), Milene Mendoza (.291), Cassidy Hornung (.278), and Jianna Lopez (.367).
Co-head coaches Crystal Aguirre, Marian "Speedy" Mendoza, and the rest of the Hornet coaching staff were once again selected as the OEC Coaching Staff of the Year. This marks the third time that they have earned this award.
