ALLYSON FUENTES TO DOMINGUEZ HILLS

ALLYSON FUENTES TO DOMINGUEZ HILLS

Orange Empire Conference Co-Pitcher of the Year Allyson Fuentes locks down a scholarship to Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Fuentes has been the ace in the hole for the Hornets the past two seasons leading the team to a conference and state title in 2024. In a 167.1 innings pitched, the sophomore right-handed pitcher from Mater Dei High earned 21 wins (17 complete games), had 1 save, with only 2 losses. She racked up 113 strikeouts with 21 walks (4.73 K/7) and ended the season with a 1.38 era. Allyson's freshman campaign in 2023 was also impressive as she led the Hornets with 22 wins with 10 losses (19 complete games). She threw 192.2 innings with 127 strikeouts and 38 walks (4.47 K/7) and finished with a 1.83 ERA. For her two-year career at FC, Fuentes is now second in school history for wins with 43 and and third in strikeouts with 240. She is also fourth all-time in career winning percentage at .782.

Truly the Hornet's consummate pro the last two seasons, Fuentes is a back-to-back Orange Empire Conference Pitcher of the Year and shared that honor this past season with her teammate Macy Brandl. Even more impressive is that Allyson earned back-to-back 3CFCA 1st Team All-State honors.

"The past two seasons, we have had the pleasure of watching Ally mature and develop in her game. Stepping into the Hornet program, Ally was determined to make herself known. Grinding on her off-days, shared with us that she had a lot to prove to herself. Her determination and willingness to be better has led her team to a State Championship. Ally has been stellar on the mound with her infectious presence. Her ability to command the strike zone and battle through adversities is a true testament of her inner warrior mentality. She has truly left her mark here at Fullerton College. Ally is a blessing and will be greatly missed", FC Coach Crystal Aguirre.

"Ally Fuentes is a right-handed pitcher that has great command of her pitches. She can locate and mix speeds that baffle hitters. Her greatest attributes are her work ethic and fierce mental determination to win. Ally is the type of player that will out-work her competition by making sure that she is on top of her game. She is also that type of pitcher that you can put into pressure situations and not be fazed. Ally is a great teammate and will always put the team first before herself, and that is why her teammates love her", FC Pitching Coach Brian Iseri.

Congratulations Allyson!
