BURNING OUT THE COMETS
Due to the incoming rain this week, the Hornets moved their home-game against Palomar College up a day to Tuesday and pulled off a 3-1 victory over the Comets.
Fullerton put a halt on last week's three-game skid with the win on Tuesday giving the team a 3-4 record in the overall standings, while Palomar suffered its second loss of the season with 4-2 record.
The Hornets did not waste any time scoring the first two runs of the contest in the bottom of the first. Veronica Moore got on from a Comet error and Jianna Lopez was hit by a pitch. Hope Morales did her job crushing a double to deep left field scoring Moore and Lopez to put FC up 2-0.
Fullerton added one more run in the third inning thanks to a home run by Veronica Moore that sailed over the left field fence.
The Comets scored their lone run in the 5th inning on a knock to left center field by Breanna Lutz that allowed Taylor Armstrong to cruise home.
Pitcher Grace Workman got the start and the win for Fullerton throwing a complete 7 inning game. She allowed 5 hits, 1 walk, and had 2 strikeouts.
Up Next: The Hornets (3-4 overall) are supposed to travel to College of the Canyons this Thursday, February 13th at 2:30 if the weather holds up. Stay tuned.
