The Hornets took the loss at home Friday night against Orange Coast College 78-66.
The loss brings FC's record to 5-15 overall with a 1-4 Orange Empire Conference record. The OCC win boosts them to a 12-9 overall record as they keep pace in the OEC with a 3-2 record.
FC opened up the first half with an 11-6 run, but it quickly vanished by the 13:04 mark. The Pirates ended the half with a ten-point lead (41-31).
In the second half the Hornets did their best to stay in the game coming within three points with 16:58. The Pirates then went on a 19-4 run separating themselves from Fullerton and they never looked back.
Orange Coast was dominant on the boards out-rebounding FC 42-29. OCC also shot 53% to the Hornet's 38.2%.
Fullerton's Noelle Cobb scored a game-high 25 points with 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Carla Castaneda dropped in 16 points (4-5/3-pointers) with 3 rebounds while Kelli Calton put up 7 points with 7 rebounds.
