LAST GAME OF 2022 IS A WINNER

The Hornets played their last game of 2022 beating Chaffey College 74-53 in a non-conference game at home Friday night.

Fullerton completed an impressive home-streak going 7-0 in the Hornets Nest in 2022 and will do its best to keep that streak going well into 2023.

The Hornets grabbed a 7-2 lead at the start of the first quarter that was capped by a jumper by Tia Jaquias. Chaffey pulled within a point at 7-6 thanks to Tiffany Hall's drive to the basket, however Fullerton took off on a 7-3 run by the end of the quarter (14-9).

The Panthers came back in the second quarter taking a 37-36 lead on a layup by Hall at 6:20. Jasmine Arnold knocked down a three-pointer giving FC back a 41-40 lead. By halftime, the Hornets bumped their lead to 52-45.

The second belonged to Fullerton as the team maintained a double-digit lead taking its largest lead of 23 by the end of the game.

Angela Zendejas scored a game-high with 20 points and added 12 rebounds for a double-double. Jasmine Arnold put up 14 points, while Tia Jaquias scored 12. Jaquias also had 7 steals and 5 rebounds. Toni Ballestero scored 11 points and Emily Alvarado dropped in 9. Sarah Shaw also added 8 points and 10 boards for the win.

Up Next: The Hornets (9-6 overall) will play one more non-conference game before conference begins when they host Long Beach City College at home on Wednesday, January 4th. Tipoff is at 5:00 pm.
