OVERTIME WIN AT UCI

After dropping their last three games, the Hornets (3-3 overall) took on UC Irvine Tuesday night and beat the Anteaters 12-11 in overtime.

With the score tied 3-3 by the end of the first quarter, the Hornets knew they could run with the talented UCI squad. Although Fullerton was down by two goals by halftime, the team fought back to tie the game up 7-7, but then the Anteaters took an 11-7 lead into the fourth quarter. FC came out firing scoring four straight goals to tie it up at 11-11 by the end of regulation.  20-seconds after the draw in sudden-death overtime, Tianna Hehl took a deep 12-meter shot to win the game.

FC goalie AJ Johnson came up with a late fourth quarter save maintaining the tie that sent the game into OT. She had 10 saves on the night.

Up Next: The Hornets (3-3 overall) will hit the road on Saturday, March 9th when they play Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Game time is at 1:00 pm.
